Varun Dhawan says channel ‘edited’ clip hours after Kriti Sanon rubbishes dating rumours with Prabhas

Varun Dhawan addressed the dating rumours about Kriti Sanon and Prabhas fuelled by comments made by him on a reality TV show, in an Instagram post. The Bhediya actor’s statement comes hours after Kriti rubbished her dating rumours with her Adipurush co-star. Varun Dhawan in his Instagram post said that the channel ‘edited’ the clip where he was teasing Kriti Sanon about Prabhas.

Taking to his Instagram, the Bhediya actor re-posted the post made by Kriti where she has strong reacted to dating rumours with Prabhas. Varun said that he was teasing Kriti for ‘fun’ and that everyone took it as ‘humour’.

He wrote, “Guys UI had your fun but it’s just fun and stuff the channels have edited to have fun we took it as humour don’t let ur imagination run so wild.”

Earlier, Kriti Sanon shared a post on her Instagram, reacting to the dating rumours with Prabhas and rubbished them. She wrote, “It’s neither pyaar (love), nor PR.. our Bhediya just went a little too wild on a reality show. And his fun banter lead to some Howl-arious rumours (woman facepalming emoji).”

The actress added, “Before some portal announces my wedding date-let me burst your bubble. The rumours are ABSOLUTELY baseless! (folded hands and shrug emoji).” She even put a ‘Fake News’ gif to the post.

For the unversed, it all began when Dhawan named all the eligible single women in the Hindi film industry, omitting Kriti’s name. On Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa, Karan Johar asked the Bhediya actor why he omitted Sanon’s name from the list.

“Kriti ka naam isiliye nahi tha kyunki Kriti ka naam kisi ke dil me hai. Ek aadmi hai jo Mumbai me nahi hai, vo iss waqt shooting kar raha hai Deepika (Padukone) ke saath. (Kriti’s name is not here because her name is in someone’s heart. That man is not in Mumbai because right now he is shooting with Deepika),” Varun responded to Karan and explained.

Meanwhile, Varun and Kriti were seen in the movie Bhediya together. Sanon is all set to star in Adipurush, featuring Prabhas, Saif Ali Khan, and Sunny Singh.
