Dharmendra talks about his co-star Jayalalithaa's death

On Monday night, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa passed away at Apollo Hospital. It was a known fact that before entering politics, Jayalalithaa had worked in almost over 140 films in South. But, what you might not know, is the fact that she had been a part of Hindi films too. Titled ‘Izzat’, this 1968 movie saw her starring alongside none other than veteran actor Dharmendra. And today, following her sad demise her co-star Dharmendra says that he was deeply shocked by this news of her death.

While talking about it to a private TV channel, an emotional Dharmendra said, “I am deeply shocked. She was my co-star. We worked together in ‘Izzat’ in 1968. At that time, we stayed for nearly one-and-a-half months in Kulu-Manali (Himachal Pradesh) for the shooting. She was there with her mother who prepared food for us.” [sic]

“When I learnt she was very ill, I fervently prayed for her recovery,” added the actor.

Further, the actor even said that whenever he had made a visit to Chennai, he would speak with Jayalalithaa on the telephone, but had not met her for years.

It seems rather very unfortunate now, isn’t it?
