Akshay Kumar and A Muruganantham

‘Padman’ is one of the most-awaited movies of Akshay Kumar. Not just because it stars him, but also because of the relevant issues it raises. The movie is based on a novella written by Akshay’s wife and writer-columnist Twinkle Khanna, which itself was based on the life of A Muruganantham, the man who strived hard to create low cost sanitary napkins for the women in his village and other places. Obviously, we are waiting for the inspirational story of the man, to unfold on screen.

Till now, the makers have been teasing us with pictures from the sets, and it is all the more exciting for those who have read the book. And now, we have a picture where we see the real ‘Padman’ and reel ‘Padman’ coming together. Yes, Muruganantham has shared a picture of himself and Akshay Kumar, and Twinkle Khanna has shared the same.

Take a look.

All for a good cause. Menstruation is still a taboo, and though the country may have been a free one for long, but the women are still not. We hope that this movie would send out the necessary message and bring out an awareness around the subject.

Also starring Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte in pivotal roles, this R Balki directorial and Twinkle Khanna’s maiden production venture is slated to hit the screens on January 26, 2018.
