R Madhavan is currently grabbing the headlines for his movie Rocketry: The Nambi Effect. It released in theatres on July 1. Ahead of the movie release, the actor was busy promoting it and he has been giving interviews. In one of the interviews with an YouTuber, Maddy was asked if he would return to Tanu Weds Manu franchise.

Well, his reply might disappoint his fans as Madhavan said he has no such plans. In the interview with Jaby Koay, the actor was asked about the possibility of a sequel to Tanu Weds Manu Returns. It featured Kangana Ranaut, and released in 2015. He was also in the 2011 film Tanu Weds Manu. Madhavan said he is not interested in returning as his character Manu. He added, “no point in beating a dead horse”.

He said, “I think that’s water under the bridge. There is no point in beating a dead horse… You know, it’s so difficult to come up with original stuff, and then there are expectations of a film. See, if it’s a sequel to Avengers or a superhero series, it’s easier because you have a template. But with Tanu Weds Manu, it’s impossible. And I think I am done with it. I don’t want to go back to being Manu now”.

Coming back to his film, Madhavan has made his directorial debut with Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, which is a biopic on the life of Nambi Narayanan, former scientist and aerospace engineer. It also features Shah Rukh Khan and Suriya in cameos.
