Kaabil profit

Hrithik Roshan and Yami Gautam will soon be seen together in Sanjay Gupta’s ‘Kaabil’ which is slated to release on January 25. The film will be clashing with Shah Rukh Khan-starrer ‘Raees’, but ‘Kaabil’ has already proved to be a profitable venture for its makers.

While talking to an entertainment web portal, Rakesh Roshan, who has produced the film, explained the logistics, “You know I sold the film for a lesser price to my distributors. I am the only producer who sells to individual distributors. My all India sale to distributors is not exceeding more than Rs 42 crore. I made the film in… without counting Hrithik’s and my price; we have made the film at a budget of Rs 35 crore. Plus Rs 15 crore on P&A. Satellite rights were sold for Rs 50 crore, while music was sold for Rs 8 crore. Overseas went for Rs 16 crore.”

Well, this means that Hrithik Roshan-starrer has recovered its COP by just selling the satellite rights, and other amounts will be an add-on. Simply wow!
