September 26 marks the iconic actor Dev Anand’s birth anniversary, and this day in 2023 is a special one as it marks his centenary year. The actor led an illustrious career in Hindi films that spanned over decades. To celebrate 100 years of Dev Anand, his former co-star Zeenat Aman took to Instagram.

Zeenat ji wrote a sweet caption raving about his Hare Rama Hare Krishna co-star. It read, “Celebrating 100 years of Dev saab.Stylish, suave and prolific, he was a dynamo beyond compare. And what generosity of talent! He sparked careers (mine included), brought together creative heads, and made films that resonated across generations. It gladdens my heart to see his legacy honoured an entire century since his birth.” Along with the caption, Zeenat ji shared throwback stills from Hare Rama Hare Krishna, bringing some nostalgia.

The veteran actress continued saying that people have been asking her to recall memories with the late legend lately. However, she referred to the three-part note she wrote for Dev Saab in April this year. She had written about how Dev saab found her and was the ‘starmaker’ for her. The actress had remembered their long working association on films like Hare Rama Hare Krishna, Heera Panna, Ishk Ishk Ishk, Darling, Darling and Kalabaaz.

She even spoke about their ‘one and only misunderstanding’. In his autobiography, Dev saab had confessed that he was in love with Zeenat ji. But he was heartbroken by the closeness between Raj Kapoor and her. Zeenat ji recalled how she felt humiliated by this thing and how she felt Dev saab misread the situation and put it in writing for others to read. But she also defended him and said she will always hold him in high regard. The late icon truly gave a star to the Indian cinema and she continues to amaze till date.
