Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmaavat’ opened to a good start at the box office with a business of Rs 17.75 crore nett on Thursday. The paid previews of Wednesday too fetched in Rs 4.25 crore nett. Then, the collections took a massive hike on Friday as the movie minted Rs 31 crore nett.

Now, the Saturday collections are here and the movie has raked in Rs 27.50 crore nett which is an amazing number for a Saturday. If you compare it to Friday business, you may find it less but one can’t discount the fact that Friday was a public holiday and Saturday wasn’t one so there will definitely be some dip in numbers. Still, the fact that ‘Padmaavat’ could collect such a good number on a Saturday proves that despite the ongoing protests, audiences are watching the movie in cinema halls. This is an indicator that the first Sunday business is going to be huge. So, the total collection until now is Rs 80.50 crore.

If you consider the massive budget of the movie, then SLB needs to keep the momentum going to attain profits and if the movie continues to fare in this manner, we are sure it will be a blockbuster.
