Coolie Box Office: Rajinikanth’s Action Thriller Earns Rs 250 Cr Ahead Of Release; Overseas Advance Look Promising

With August 15 less than 10 days away, the buzz surrounding the release of Rajinikanth’s Coolie is at an all-time high. Despite it clashing at the box office with Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR and Kiara Advani-led War 2, the hype for the Lokesh Kanagaraj-directed action-thriller is showing no signs of lessening. Rajinikanth’s Coolie Earns Rs 250 Cr Ahead Of Release?

According to a Pinkvilla report, Rajinikanth upcoming action-thriller has reportedly earned around Rs 250 crore from the sale of its international, digital, music, and satellite rights. As per reports, the film’s international rights have been sold for Rs 68 crore. This means that the Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial has scored the second biggest deal of all time for a Tamil film. Additionally, a Koimoi report suggests that the streaming rights of Coolie have been sold to a leading platform for a whopping Rs 120 crore.

Coolie Dominates Overseas Market

The film has not only earned a lumpsum from the sale of the different rights, but it’s also creating havoc at the overseas marker with its advance booking. As report by Sacnilk, Coolie has already minted an astonishing Rs 30 crore from its advance bookings internationally. With this, the film is likely to achieve the biggest opening for a Tamil film in the international markets – surpassing Thalapathy Vijay’s Leo. Leo – also directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, had collected Rs 66 crore on its opening day from overseas territories.
