Selfiee box office: Akshay Kumar, Emraan Hashmi starrer stays low on opening weekend

The first half of 2023 rather than the first three months of this year is not going well in terms of the box office. Apart from Shah Rukh Khan starrer Pathaan, no films till now have caused a stir at the box office yet. Films like Kuttey, Shiv Shashtri Balboa, Almost Pyaar with DJ Mohabbat and Shehzada are unable to impress the audience. It seems like Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi starrer Selfiee is also going to join the league as the movie’s opening weekend collections fall flat on their face.

According to a report in Box Office India, Sefliee which had a disastrous opening day has a dull opening weekend as well. The movie collected Rs 3.85 crore on day 3. Adding up the Sunday collection, Selfiee earned Rs 10.20 crore at the domestic markets. 

The first weekend of Selfiee is as follows:

Day 1 – Friday – Rs 2.60 crore

Day 2 – Saturday – Rs 3.75 crore

Day 3 – Sunday – Rs 3.85 crore

TOTAL – Rs 10.20 crore

Post the lukewarm response from fans, the Samrat Prithviraj actor told Aaj Tak, “The thing is that it happens due to your own fault, film ka na chalna (a film not working). The audience has changed, you need to change, and you need to dismantle yourself. You have to start again because the audience requires to see something else.“

Selfiee movie review:

Bollywood Bubble gave 3.5 stars to Selfiee. A part of the review read, “Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi starrer Selfiee is genuinely an entertaining watch with a few hits and misses. Even though it gets a little predictable from the start, you will still enjoy it. Watch it for the smashing performances by Akshay and Emraan as well as for Raj Mehta’s direction which will surely leave you starstruck.”
