Lock Upp is returning with a second season, but this time with major changes. The reality show, which first premiered in 2022 with Kangana Ranaut as host, now returns under a new title: Lock Upp: Sach ya Sazaa. The makers have also introduced new hosts, with Farah Khan and Riteish Deshmukh stepping in to lead the show’s second season.
Lock Upp Season 2 Announced
Recently, the makers unveiled the teaser of the upcoming season. The promo shows Farah and Riteish locked in a jail-like setup while discussing how public perception can decide anyone’s fate in the game. The teaser also hints at the format’s continued focus on confessions, emotional breakdowns and high-pressure confrontations.
Unlike the first season, which streamed on ALTBalaji and MX Player, the new season will now premiere on Netflix following a collaboration with Balaji Telefilms. The show will begin streaming on June 27.
According to the makers, this season will feature 14 celebrity contestants who will stay confined inside the Lock Upp setup for six weeks. Contestants will face punishments, tasks, shifting alliances and eliminations while being cut off from the outside world.
The first season of Lock Upp generated massive online attention due to its controversial format and explosive revelations from contestants. Hosted by Kangana Ranaut, the show featured personalities from television, films and social media competing inside a jail-themed reality setup. Comedian Munawar Faruqui eventually emerged as the winner of the debut season.
