EXCLUSIVE: Aditya Uppal Opens Up On Playing Sanjay Dutt’s Right-Hand Man In Dhurandhar; Hints At A Bigger, Bolder Part 2 For Omar Hydar

Actor Aditya Uppal made his big-screen debut with Dhurandhar, where he played ASP Omar Hydar, the trusted right-hand man of Sanjay Dutt’s powerful character, SSP Chaudhary Aslam. Aditya spoke about the strong response his character has received and shared insights into his role and experience on set.

Aditya Uppal On Being Sanjay Dutt’s Right Hand In Dhurandhar

In a candid conversation with Bollywood Bubble, talking about Omar Hydar’s importance in the story, Aditya explained, “Omar Syed Hydar has been a very important character in the film and in the entire story. A large part of his character will unfold in part two, which is coming out on 19th March. Right now, he is introduced as the right-hand of Sanjay Dutt’s character, SSP Chaudhary Aslam.”

He added that Omar is not someone who speaks too much initially, but is constantly observing everything around him. “He’s always around, watching what’s happening from behind, keeping a close eye on things. He’s looking after the Lyari Task Force and silently understanding the situation,” he said.

Recalling his experience of shooting with Sanjay Dutt, Aditya shared his admiration for the veteran actor. “Growing up, I was a huge fan of his films like Sadak, Dharam and Munna Bhai. Working with him was truly a blessing,” he said.

He further added, “He is extremely down-to-earth and loving. He makes you feel comfortable instantly. I feel lucky to have worked so closely with him because there is only one Dutt, and that is Sanjay Dutt.”

When asked about what audiences can expect from Omar Hydar in the second part, Aditya teased an exciting journey ahead. “It won’t be fair to reveal much right now, but I can say that part two will be bigger, better, and a complete banger,” he said. “Omar Hydar will turn things around. His journey will take unexpected turns, and he will be dealing with big names and big situations. Everything changes in part two, and it’s going to be on another level altogether.”

With a strong debut and an intriguing character arc, Aditya Uppal’s Omar Hydar is clearly one to watch out for in Dhurandhar.
