Women’s Day is a celebration of resilience, strength, and the incredible contributions of women across all walks of life. Actor Vardhaan Puri, known for his deep admiration for strong women, shares his thoughts on the significance of this day and the changes he hopes to see in the entertainment industry.

Women’s Stories Deserve to Be Told – And Paid Fairly – Vardhaan Puri

In an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Bubble, Vardhaan acknowledges the growing presence of women in the film industry. “I recently shot for a film abroad, and the crew had 70% women and 30% men. It was refreshing to see. Women have a kind of sensitivity that many men cannot even dream of, and that is their superpower. The film industry is a world of stories, but the most important one is the one you tell yourself. Believe in your vision, work hard, and show us men who is boss.”

While progress has been made, Vardhaan emphasizes the need for further change. “The first change I want to see is pay parity. Leading men often earn up to 200 times more than their female counterparts, which is unfair. We need more strong, commercially viable women-centric films to bridge this gap. Additionally, ensuring a safe and respectful working environment is crucial. No woman should have to fight for basic safety and respect on set.”

Vardhaan urges industry leaders to take action. “We need stronger policies against misconduct, accountability at all levels, and more women in leadership roles—directors, producers, and executives—so they can shape the industry’s future. True progress will come when women in film can focus entirely on their craft without fear.”

Vardhaan Says Sister Dr. Sachi Puri Desai Is His Biggest Inspiration

When asked about a woman who has inspired him the most, Vardhaan speaks with immense pride about his sister, Dr. Sachi Puri Desai. “She is the epitome of strength, resilience, honesty, loyalty, and commitment to duty. She is hands down the best mother to her daughter, my darling niece, Devika. Sachi leads by example, balancing her flourishing career in dermatology and aesthetics with her personal life and philanthropy. I wish everyone could have a sister and best friend like her. I am a hero only on screen, but she is my real-life hero.”

On this Women’s Day, Vardhaan Puri’s message is clear women belong at the forefront, and it’s time for the industry to truly support and empower them.
