Abhishek Sharrma: My Father Taught Me To Stay Grounded No Matter What

Talking about the most important lessons his father taught his not only through words but though action, Abhishek Sharrma said, “The most important lesson my father taught me was to stay grounded no matter what stage of life I am in. He has always believed that success is temporary, but character stays with you forever.”

Abhishek continued that this advice took on even more meaning when he entered the entertainment industry where praise and criticism are often two sides of the same coin. He said, “As an actor, there are highs and lows, but that lesson helped me stay focused on my work rather than getting carried away by praise or disgraced by setbacks. He has always emphasised being disciplined, being honest and respecting people. That always continues to guide me every day.”

Abhishek also credited his father for teaching him resilience. He said, “He has always taught me to believe in myself, no matter what the situation is, no matter what the condition is. One thing that I have learnt is that you keep doing your work, and the rest will be sorted out by itself. The way I have seen him work without complaining and working every day has taught me a lot.”

Abhishek Sharrma Recalls Fond Childhood Memories With His Father

Speaking about childhood memories, Abhishek immediately thought of cricket. He revealed that his love for the sport began because of his father. He said, “One of my fondest memories is when he got me my first cricket bat and when he introduced me to cricket. That’s why I love cricket. I have an immense respect for that sport.”

The actor admitted that he did not fully understand his father’s sacrifices while growing up. However, things changed as he became older and started earning himself. He recalled, “As a child, you don’t understand your parents’ efforts, so you don’t fully understand what goes on behind the scenes. Now, when I look back, I see what all it was. I cherish everything. As I have grown older, I have developed a much deeper appreciation for the sacrifices he made.”

He added, “Today, I understand the responsibilities, the worries and the hard work that come with providing for a family and supporting their children’s dreams. At that time, we don’t understand that, but eventually you realise that. Now, when you are earning, you understand everything and then you realise the value.”

Abhishek believes many milestones in his life were made possible because of his father’s silent efforts. “Many of the opportunities I had were possible because of the choices and sacrifices made by my father quietly and without expecting recognition. So that understanding has only increased my respect and gratitude for him.”

Ending the conversation on a heartfelt note, the actor wished his father and fathers everywhere a Happy Father’s Day, thanking them for the dedication and sacrifices they make for their families every single day.
