EXCLUSIVE: Gauahar Khan gets emotional recalling Raghu-Rajiv’s support during IRL: People can say ‘don’t want to work with a pregnant woman’

Actor Gauahar Khan is currently in the best phase of her life as she is enjoying pregnancy to the fullest. Amidst this, she even bagged a role in the Netflix show In Real Love. Recalling getting a show during her pregnancy and how Raghu Ram and Rajiv have supported her with this. During an exclusive interview, Gauahar Khan got a little emotional about her pregnancy phase while recalling Raghu and Rajiv’s support during IRL shoot when most of the people turn around and say we don’t want to work with a pregnant woman.

Gauahar Khan on pregnancy:

When asked about the new phase of her life, Gauahar said, “Amazing like the best thing, like aap kitna bhi paise kamalo, aap kitne bhi countries chale jao, aap kitne bhi successful ho jaao, aap jo bhi experience karlo life mein, agar ek aurat chahti hai ye (pregnancy) experience karna, like I pray truly ki jisko bhi chahat hai ki wo kabhi na kabhi maa bane toh main due karti hu har cheez aasani se ho jaye. There’s no other experience in the world that can match up to what a woman feels about pregnancy.“

Gauahar Khan on bagging IRL:

Gauahar then narrated how she bagged the role “But I have to tell you how appreciative I am of these two people because they are forward-thinking and I have to mention Netflix too here. They (Raghu Ram and Rajiv) supported me so much.”

Getting a little emotional on recalling her conversation with the twins, Khan continued, “I’ll never forget a call with Rajiv once, anyway not to mention the details but it’s just so wonderful to work with people who allow a woman to go through sorry, go through something as big as this where people can turn around and say that ‘no, we don’t want to work with the pregnant woman as they will have tantrums and issues. Or will she be out of shape and many such factors happen over so many years. Something happened and I had to share it with them at that time when we were starting the show and I and I told Rajiv that ‘You know this is the thing’ and he said ‘Huh so okay let’s talk’. I was like ‘You’re okay with me like having a pregnant host on the show which has got to do with love and you would think that you would obviously want someone extremely glamorous and all of that because obviously, it is Netflix, you need to look a certain way.“

The Ishaqzaade actor concluded, “It’s an international show people are going to watch it all across the world. I was so tensed I swear I was so tense at that time and when I spoke to Raju and he was like ‘Yeah, great, so when are we shooting, what are the dates?’ and I was like ‘Kaha se aaye hai ye log?’ and especially Netflix also you know taking care of me at shoots and stuff like that and it’s just been wonderful added to this experience of knowing these gentlemen here and of course run and everybody on the show has been just amazing.“
