EXCLUSIVE: Jennifer Mistry on TMKOC finding a new Roshan: I was prepared that I’ll be replaced

Actor Jennifer Mistry who played Roshan Singh Sodhi in popular show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has been replaced. She quit the show this year after accusing producer Asit Modi of sexual harrasment. However, recently, reports started buzzing that she has been replaced as Monaz Mevawalla will be essaying the role in TMKOC.

Interestingly, Bollywood Bubble contacted Jennifer and she reacted on it saying that she was prepared for it. Jennifer mentioned that even though she was attached to her character, she is happy that the makers have found a new one.

Jennifer Mistry on being replaced

Speaking about the same, she exclusively told us, “When in 2013 I was replaced due to my pregnancy, I knew that I wanted to come back as I was attached to the role. But this time, when everything happened on 7th March, I knew I didn’t want to return. No matter what happens, I knew I will not come back. I was very much prepared that at some point I will be replaced, in a few months or a year. So, I am happy they have found their new Roshan. It was a beautiful character which I played. It was a role that I wanted, a bit western with curly hair. God gave me the role I wanted. It’s by choice that I didn’t go back. Now, whoever is destined to play that role, they will get it.”

Jennifer praises Monaz Mevawalla

She said, “When I got to know about the news, I was happy because just a few weeks ago, I detached myself from Roshan. Now, whoever deserves and fits in this role, should get it. Lots of blessing to her and a lot of gratitude for this role which I played for so many years. It got me so much love from my fans, and name, fame and everything. I am really grateful for this role. And Monaz is a very cute and sweet girl. We are Facebook friends and her father has also worked on TMKOC a couple of times. She is very bubbly, chirpy and Parsi.”

“I am sure she will be able to do justice to the role. Lots of blessings to her and the way the audience gave me love, I wish they do the same for her and accept her. I am really happy for her and whatever is in my luck, it will get manifested. God has never done wrong with me, and I am sure he never will,” Jennifer continued.
