Isha Koppikar ADMITS Regretting Turning Down Dil Chahta Hai Offer
When asked if she has any regrets in life and if she was replaced in any film, Isha Koppikar said, “Mujhe regret hai ki maine film Dil Chahta Hai nahi ki. Sachi mein, zindagi mein, is industry ko leke ye ek regret hai mera. Aise bahut saare regrets hote hain, lekin ek major regret ye hai ki maine film Pyaar Ishq Mohabbat ki. Us time main aaram se apne director ya producer ko bol sakti thi ki, ‘Please, maine aapki film sign ki hai, lekin mujhe ye film bhi karni hai. Ya phir mujhe aapki film chhodni padegi.’ But us time mujhe guide karne ke liye koi nahi tha. Aur mere values itne high hain. Jo mere maa-baap ne thok-thok ke bhare hain mere andar—ki ek baar agar kisi ko commitment de di, toh bas.”
She continued, “Shayad ye meri zindagi ka hi dialogue hai, jo Salman ne use kiya hai: ‘Khud se commitment kar li toh kisi aur ki nahi sunta.’ So that is what I said—maine woh film sign kar li hai, ab main unko kaise dhokha de sakti hoon? Main yeh nahi bol sakti thi ki mujhe doosri film bhi karni hai. But aaj lagta hai, yaar, kuch toh jugaad karna chahiye tha. Ki main dono kar sakti thi, ya saath mein manage kar sakti thi. Because unfortunately, Pyaar Ishq Mohabbat itni massive hit nahi hui. And Dil Chahta Hai—that film is a cult till date.”
