EXCLUSIVE: Pearl V Puri recalls the trauma of his jail term: I found means to kill myself

Pearl V Puri made a rocking entry in Bollywood through his debut movie Yaariyan 2. The actor starred alongside Meezaan and Divya Khosla Kumar. Pearl received immense love and appreciation for his role in the recently released movie. However, back in 2021, Pearl V Puri was accused of molesting a minor girl and had to face arrest for 11 days in this case.

Now, Pearl sat down with us to have an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Bubble. In the heart-wrenching chat, Pearl opened up about the tragic phase he had to face before and during his time in jail.

Pearl V Puri shares how he survived during his jail term

As Pearl went through one of the most tragic phases in his life, he shared what he went through during that time. The Yaariyan 2 actor said, “It was a bad patch of my life. I lost my nani maa, and after 7 days I lost my Dad. After a month, my mother got cancer, she was going through chemotherapy and then this happened. The phase was so bad, that I thought that God was not there only. Genuinely, I do whatever I could do for people out there. So I feel what is karma then? “

He added, “I am here in between these people doing whatever I am, so there is no God. Even I wanted to kill myself then. Later on, I realised, that whatever it is, it is just to make me even stronger, make me feel better. But, I generally say this, Sher jab tak mara nahi tab tak haara nahi! Toh mai jab tak zinda hu tab tak haarunga nahi (I will not lose till the time I am alive).”

Further, he stated, “That phase was really tough. I came through it, I survived through it, was definitely a blessing.”

Pearl also shared that he found means to kill himself. He said, “Nobody is with you when you are going through that particular time. I feel that is worse than hell. Nobody should go through that phase. Even for somebody who has been hating me throughout his life, I don’t wish it for that particular person. Aisa hai ke, after a point you don’t want to live. I found out means to kill myself then and there. But, there are certain things in my upbringing that make me very positive. And if I can think like that, that is so devastating, that phase is so bad. You feel that you have died and have come back again. Everybody was with me when I came back. Jinse mai kabhi mila hi nahi, wo bhi mere sath khade the (People who don’t know me also stood by me). And then I felt that God is there.“

Well, the conversation did not just end here. Furthermore, Pearl Puri also shared that he did not eat or drink anything during his time in jail.
