Raveena Tandon reacts to Bollywood being called big bad industry

Not only in reel life, but also in real life Anushka was a topper and scored over 90% in academics. During the chat we asked her if it was tough for her to convince her parents to enter the industry as she was a topper. To this, she says, “When I broke the news to my parents that I wanted to be an actress, they didn’t react. In fact, my mother had stopped talking to me. But I realised she was a part of a vicious circle. For me, it was just about moving to Mumbai but she had to live in that society. I remember we went to somebody’s place and the person was like you are unaware of how actresses perform scenes. Hearing this my mother’s face turned red but today, that same person congratulates me every time my projects are released.”

To this, Raveena Tandon adds, “It’s this misconception that Bollywood is a dirty bad World. It’s very sad because I think it’s one of the most giving industries that you’ll ever get. I mean look at me after 33 years. I am still enjoying and doing the kind of work that I want. Amitabh Bachchan today is still hitting the ball out of the park. And you see the other industries, people are done at the age of 35, 36 or 40 and they retire. So it is something that the opportunities that you get within this industry is fantastic it’s just a misconception that is out there for people that this is that big bad world. There is you competitiveness, politics and sabotage in every industry It’s not only this industry. You go anywhere there is rivalry.”
