EXCLUSIVE: Tusshar Kapoor Opens Up About Raising Son Laksshya Differently Than Jeetendra Raised Him; Says, “I’m The Cool Dad”

Tusshar Kapoor opened up about how his relationship with his son, Lakshya, is vastly different from the one he shared with his father, veteran actor Jeetendra. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, the actor described Jeetendra as a loving yet traditional father whose word was final, while admitting he has adopted a more open and friendly parenting style with his own son. Tusshar also called himself a “cool dad,” explaining that although he has rules and believes in being firm, he has never imposed his views or raised his hand on Lakshya, encouraging open communication instead. Tusshar Kapoor Reflects On Bond With Father Jeetendra, Son Laksshya

When asked about his bond with father Jeetendra and his bond with son Lakshya, Tusshar Kapoor said, “I think the relationship I share with my son is very different from the one I shared with my father. That’s where the difference lies. It was an old-school father-son relationship, where there was a lot of respect, and there were many things you just couldn’t say. You know, the dad’s word was final. That was the kind of upbringing I had.”

He added, “I mean, though he was very lenient, he was also strict. We couldn’t raise our voice, and we couldn’t really have an opinion that went against his, because he was the head of the family, which is the typical Indian way. But my son is free to tell me whatever he likes. I’ve given him a lot of time, and we’re more like friends than just father and son. He can say “no,” he can disagree with me, so it’s very different.”

Tusshar Is A Cool Dad

Tusshar admitted he is a cool dad. He said, “I am the cool dad, for sure. Thoda, I have rules. I’m firm. I’ve shouted at him, but I’ve never raised my hand. My dad never raised his hand on me either. But I’ve never forced my views on him. I’ve never been very strict. No. I’m firm with regard to certain things; the rest, I leave it up to him.”

Tusshar Kapoor has a son, Laksshya Kapoor, whom he welcomed via surrogacy in 2016. The actor embraced parenthood as a single father. Laksshya is deeply passionate about football, often playing as a defender, and remains actively engaged in outdoor activities.
