Abhishek Sharrma Vasudha

Abhishek Sharrma has truly grown into his role as Devansh in Zee TV’s popular show Vasudha. As the main character, he carries the story with quiet confidence, making Dev relatable and real. His performance has never relied on loud drama; instead, it is his controlled expressions and emotional depth that have connected with the audience.

The ongoing Dev-Vasudha track is now showing a new side of him, and viewers are noticing the shift. During an exclusive interaction, Sharrma got candid about letting Dev’s unspoken emotions speak and the difficulties he faced it portraying the same on-screen. Read on to know all he shared.

Abhishek Sharrma On Dev’s Restrained Emotions In Vasudha

In the recent episodes, Dev is clearly in love with Vasudha, yet he continues to hold back his emotions because of the things she has been doing. Speaking about portraying that fine balance, Abhishek said, “Playing that balance was actually very nuanced. Dev was deeply in love. But he’s also someone who has been conditioned to stay composed and responsible, especially because of family dynamics.”

He further explained that the real challenge was subtlety. He shared, “As an actor, the challenge was to let the emotions be visible without making them obvious. Allowing silences, pauses and restraints to speak louder than words.” According to him, understated moments often feel more honest. He noted, “I believe sometimes unexpressed emotions, where you do not express, feel more real on screen. And that’s what I tried to bring to Dev in this track or phase of the show.”

Abhishek: I Focused On Internalising That Emotional Shift Rather Than…”

The ongoing storyline shows Dev shifting from being practical to more openly emotional. Talking about preparing for this change, Abhishek said his focus was on understanding the reason behind Dev’s transformation. He said, “For me, the key was understanding why rather than how. I mean, why is Dev doing this? Why is Dev changing? Not just how.”

He added that Dev’s emotions were always present, but now circumstances are pushing him to confront them. “Kaku is asking him to confront, and now he knows that he has to take this particular stand to prove his love.”

Instead of making the shift dramatic, Abhishek chose to internalise it. He shared, “I focused on internalising that emotional shift rather than externalising it through dramatic expressions. The idea was to let the transformation feel very organic.” he explained. He described it as something happening within first — “like a crack in a glass” – which slowly becomes visible outside.

As Abhishek continues to shine as Devansh in Vasudha, his dedication to acing the role deserve a round of applause.
