Vishal Jethwa is well known name in both the telly world and Bollywood thanks to his portrayal of Akbar in Bharat Ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap and Sunny in the Rani Mukerji-led Mardaani 2.As the 31-year-old actor gears up to steal the hearts of millions with his soon-to-release drama Homebound, Bollywood Bubble recently sat down with the actor for a podcast. During the interaction, Vishal had his heart on his sleeve and spoke about several topics, including his childhood, losing his father at a young, his family’s financial difficulties and lots more.

Vishal Jethwa On His Father Financial Troubles

Talking about the financial troubles his family faced while his father was living, Vishal Jethwa said, “Yeh sunne mein bahut kadwa lagega, par jab tak mere papa the tab tak humari aarthik paristhithi bahut kharab thi. Unke jaane ke baad, actually humara growth shuru hua. Don’t take it wrong, but it’s a fact.”

With a heavy voice he continued, “Aisa lahta hai mujhe ki unke shayad naseeb mein yeh cheez hogi hi nahi kyuki sapne hi aise the ki shayad humare ghar pe sofa ho ek din. Ek din humare ghar pe AC hoga, ek din humare ghar mein dining table hoga, AC wale kamre mein ek din sona hai…”

Talking about the jobs his father used to do, the Homebound actor said in Hindi, “He used to work on embroidery machines, my mom also learnt that.” Vishal continued, “Kyuki unke financial crisis the toh woh har baar kuch na kuch change karne ki koshish karte the. Unho he toh nariyal paanio bhi beecha hai aur beer bar mein sing-chane bhi beche hai… Yeh sab maine apne aakho se dhekha hai. I still remember that time.”

Vishal On Becoming The Man Of The House After His Father’s Death

Recalling having to grow up soon owing to his father’s death at a young age, Vishal Jethwa said, “Jab zimmadari aati hai toh automatically bhagwan aapko taakat dete hai ki aap aage badh sake. Jab mujhe pata chala tha – woh second mujhe abhi bhi yaad hai, first time jab bataya gaya mujhe ‘Your father is no more,’ main denial mein chala gaya. Main accept nahi kar pa raha tha. Then slowly, I had to accept it. I think everyone feels like this in such situations.”

He continued, “Mujhe nahi pata chala main zimmedaar beta ban gaya hu abhi. Log mujhe keh rahe the – joh milne aa rahe the, ab tujhe hi sambhalna hai aur mujhe samajh nahi aa raha tha kyuki main 13-14 saal ka tha aur mujhe yeh realisation nahi ho raha tha. Then I started working.” Adding that he never realised he was of the age to have fun in life, bunk college and stuff, Vishal said, “Maine apna professional life shuru kiya aur professional life ko hi kuch samey tak apni personal life maanta raha.”
