Sarbjit was a biographical drama film directed by Omung Kumar. The film featured Aishwarya Rai as Dalbir Kaur and Randeep Hooda portrayed the title role of Sarabjit Singh, an Indian man who was sentenced to death by the Supreme Court of Pakistan in 1991 and who consequently spent 22 years in prison for alleged terrorism and spying. While the movie received mixed reviews, Aishwarya was praised for her acting. One of the film critics had said, “This is easily Aishwarya’s bravest and most challenging role. There are scenes in which she impressively holds her own.” Another critic said, “The film essentially belongs to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, as Dalbir, she has done a sincere act.”
