Amit Kumar’s shocking revelation

Iconic and evergreen singer Kishore Kumar was paid a tribute on the show recently. Kishore’s son Amit Kumar was invited as a special judge on the show. However, after the episode was aired, Amit made shocking revelations and said that he didn’t enjoy the Kishore Kumar special episode at all and that he wanted to stop it midway. He told Times of India, “Frankly, I wanted to stop the episode. I did what I was told. I was told sabko praise kamana hai. I was told jo jaisa bhi gaaye usko uplift karna hai because it’s a tribute to Kishore da. I thought it will be a homage to my father. But once there, I just followed what I was asked to do. I had told them to give me portions of the script in advance, but nothing of that sort happened.” 

Pawandeep Rajan and Arunita Kanjilal’s fake love story

In their bid to keep the TRP charts soaring, makers of reality shows go to several extents. From focusing more on the tragic or heartwrenching backstories and struggles of a contestant to cooking up fake love angles, we have seen this all in the latest season of Indian Idol. Interestingly, host Aditya Narayan even admitted that the love angle between Pawandeep Rajan and Arunita Kanjilal on the show is fake. “People say that we cook up make-believe affairs on reality shows. So what? Did we ever say no? We do it. Ye dhong hai (This is all lie). But you enjoy it no? Because we love to do it,” Aditya told Bollywood Spy.

Indian Idol 12 is judged by Neha Kakkar, Vishal Dadlani and Himesh Reshammiya. However, when Anu Malik returned as one of the judges in the recent episodes, the makers received flak from the audience. However, the makers are yet to ascertain if Anu has replaced Vishal Dadlani or have been asked to step for him for just a few episodes. For the unversed, back in 2019, Anu Malik had stepped down as the judge of the talent hunt show after his name cropped up in the ‘Me Too’ movement.
