Shanthi Muruganantham was the lady who was instrumental in Arunachalam Muruganantham's decision to create low-cost sanitary pad making machine. She used to collect filthy rags and newspapers to use during her menstrual cycle and that was the prime reason for her husband to come up with the novel idea of inventing sanitary pad making machine.

Twinkle Khanna

Twinkle Khanna, the lady who hasn't just co-produced the movie, but also penned a book on the same. Her book titled 'The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad' has a novella on the life of Muruganantham. So, taking inspiration from the man's life journey and the book, the movie 'PadMan' was conceptualised.
