Matthew Perry, very well known for his character as Chandler Bing in FRIENDS, passed away this year at the age of 54. The death of Matthew Perry shook the nation and left his fans and followers saddened. Now, the toxicology report from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office stated that Matthew Perry died from the acute effects of Ketamine.

Matthew Perry died due to acute effects of Ketamine

As per a report in Variety, the Friends star was undergoing ketamine infusion therapy before his death for anxiety and depression. The report from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office indicated elevated levels of Ketamine, a substance that is a short-acting anesthetic containing hallugenetic properties. The report added, “The exact method of intake in Mr. Perry’s case is unknown.”

“Contributory factors in his death include drowning, coronary artery disease and buprenorphine effects. The manner of death is accident,” it added. The autopsy findings also suggested that the actor may have self-medicated himself with ketamine. The report added that the actor has been receiving ketamine infusion therapy for depression and anxiety, with his most recent infusion having occurred 1 1/2 weeks before his death.

The autopsy report also stated that no alcohol was detected in his system. It also stated that there were no traces of drugs like cocaine, heroin or fentanyl. Speaking of his death, Matthew Perry was reportedly found unconscious in a hot tub at his house.
