Trial Period REVIEW:

A lighthearted comedy and a feel-good movie should have the ability to make you feel emotions after promising it. And Trial Period is one such film. The makers have brought the concept of use for a 30-day trial period or return in a very unique way. It’s a complete family entertainer. It also carries a message of social stigma being generated due to various issues.

A single mother fulfils an unconventional demand by her son. The young lad asks his mother to get a father on a 30-day trial period. After days of looking around, the mother finds a man and asks him to be the worst father he could be. What happens next? Watch it after you read the review.

Star performances

The child actor, Zidane Braz‘s captivating performance, especially in emotional scenes, leaves a lasting impression with his adorable eyes. Genelia Deshmukh‘s portrayal as a mother in the film is refreshing and delivered with finesse. Manav Kaul shines as Prajapati Dwivedi, a calm and naive small-town boy, making him the second-best character after Zidane.

The supporting cast of Shakti Kapoor, Sheeba Chadda, Barun Chanda, and Swaroopa Ghosh add to the film’s charm, skillfully portraying their roles. Their combined talents make the movie a memorable and appealing experience.

3 Reasons to watch Trial Period

1) Unique storyline

If you are tired of watching dramas, thrillers, or action and wish to see something new – watch this. It is not the usual hero-heroine storyline or a typical kid movie. It’s something different combining a 30-day trial period. offer. The role of teleshoppers and teleshopping is hilariously depicted.

2) The cute chemistry

I wouldn’t tag Genelia and Manav’s bonding as chemistry. Together they were really good. While at the start of the film, their personalities were contrasted, towards the end I believed that they share the same personality. With Genelia’s bubbliness and Manav’s Ujjain vibes, it was a good combination.

3) Highlights social stigma

The movie sheds light on social issues. A single mother staying with a man unmarried in her house and how Ana’s parents disapprove of it shows the taboo. On the other hand, PD not getting any job and having to settle as a trial father portrays the issue of unemployment in a subtle way. Plus point Manav was a man with zero male egos. Even, Romi gets bullied and how he over comes is an empowering process.

Drawbacks

After I have said so many good things about the movie, you must be wondering where’s the not-so-good things. But, let me start now. Firstly, I am not denying that I didn’t like Manav and Genelia’s on-screen, I did. But, it was quite predictable what would happen in the end. On the other hand, I was not satisfied with the ending because I believe they could have concluded in a better way. Moreover, the songs in the film might have been sweet but, I didn’t connect to any.

Conclusion

Overall, speaking of the Trial Period I recommend you to watch it with your family and if you have kids go ahead but beware, they might just ask for the perfect papa. It’s the perfect blend of emotions like laughter and tears. It’s got the comedy element and will make you go awww in some scenes. Towards the end of the movie, you’ll definitely feel-good!
