After 83 we have met with another cricket biopic. Kaun Pravin Tambe is based on the life of cricketer Pravin Tambe who made his IPL debut at the age of 41. The cricketer had left the whole nation puzzled about who he is? While the plot of the movie is quite intriguing but Kaun Pravin Tambe? lost the toss when it comes to execution.

Director Jayprad Desai and screenwriter Kiran Yadnyopavit have kept the screenplay quite simple which is quite welcoming but the graph becomes a single line with no jumps of drama. Pravin Tambe is a cricketer emerging from the Mulund area in Mumbai. He will go through hell and back to make his dream of playing Ranji come true. While his wife is more than annoyed with this sautan called Ranji, Tambe is purely in love with the sport.

The movie beautifully depicts that age is just a number and that will never be a criterion for pursuing your dreams. Tambe was carving his way to the Mumbai Ranji Trophy team through the Times Shield matches, but it was not until he turned 40 that he made the cut. Nevertheless, he was more than happy to be part of the team.

Kaun Pravin Tambe? holds its ground given the multiple struggles Tambe faced with being labelled as a ‘gully-level’ cricketer by sports journo (Parambrata Chatterjee). But he is just like every common man of Mumbai who is aiming to fulfil their dreams. He will wait tables at a bar, do every job that takes him one step higher toward his dream.

Kaun Pravi Tambe is a good one time watch for the story which will tug on your heartstrings. But it will fall flat on occasions.
