Akshay Kumar and Ileana D’Cruz’s wedding picture from their upcoming film ‘Rustom’ is a perfect replica of a Parsi wedding. ‘Rustom’ is a story based on the shocking Nanavati case of 1959 wherein a naval officer was tried in the court for killing his wife’s lover. Akshay plays the role of navy officer Rustom Pavri, who is a Parsi and Ileana plays Akshay’s wife in the movie.

It was very important to get the perfect Parsi look and Akshay didn’t leave any stone unturned to do justice to the Parsi community. So he sought the help of his personal assistant Zenobia Kohla, who is a Parsi.

For the wedding sequence, Akshay requested Zenobia to show him the wedding pictures of her parents. And when you see the wedding picture of Akshay Kumar as Rustom Pavri with on screen wife Ileana D’Cruz, you will not be able to make out the difference between Zenobia’s parents’ wedding pictures and Rustom’s pictures. Zenobia also helped him understand the way Parsis lead their lives. The wedding picture itself is a proof that Akshay has gone neck-deep into the character and is following nuances and mannerisms of the Parsi community to the tee.

‘Rustom’ directed by Tinu Suresh Desai and produced by Neeraj Pandey is all set to release on August 12, 2016.
