sonakshi-sinha-and-ranveer-singh

Actress Sonakshi Sinha who is gung ho about her father Shatrughan Sinha’s biopic feels that Ranveer Singh would be perfect to play her father in the film. Earlier, Shatrughan had said that he would want Ranveer to feature in his biopic and daughter Sona can’t agree enough on this. Sonakshi had worked with Ranveer in the period romance ‘Lootera’.

Sonakshi spoke about it to a leading web portal. She said, “If anybody can match… at that point of time… my father’s energy and personality, I think Ranveer would be suitable to do it. That would be honest and very interesting to watch because I have worked with him in ‘Lootera‘ and he has proved it time and again.”

After delivering an action-packed performance in ‘Akira’, Sonakshi will be seen next in remake of 1969 cult film ‘Ittefaq’. She hasn’t seen the original film as yet. She said, “A lot of people from our generation haven’t seen it so, for them it would be an entirely new film altogether. Filmmakers are new and there are a new set of actors. I haven’t seen the original film yet so, for me it’s a new experience. We will start shooting in January.”

The original movie featured Rajesh Khanna and Nanda and was helmed by Yash Chopra in 1969. The remake will be helmed by Abhay Chopra, nephew of Yash Chopra, and will star Sonakshi Sinha and Sidharth Malhotra in the lead roles. Here’s what Sonakshi said on it, “It’s a mystery so, I will keep it a mystery for a while. We haven’t even started shooting. It’s a very interesting film. It could be or could not be a pairing.”

We’ll have to see if Sonakshi and Sidharth can match up to the legendary performances of Nanda and Rajesh Khanna respectively. Also, we agree that if there is someone in the current generation of Bollywood, who can be termed as an energy machine, that would be Ranveer Singh. It would be interesting to see him essaying the role of Shatrughan ‘Shotgun’ Sinha, if ever a biopic on the veteran actor is helmed.
