Priyanka Chopra speaks about humanity

Actress Priyanka Chopra, who will be hosting United Nation’s Global Citizen Festival, says people around the world have put aside humanity in the race to prove their “god or country” better.

The former Miss World, who is scaling new heights globally, also spoke about her Indian roots, saying she “comes from a country which has seen poverty and affluence live together in a cohesion”.

The actress announced the special news on the American TV show ‘Today Show’ along with singer Usher. She also spoke about the importance of Global Citizen and how it affects every youth today, read a statement.

The initiative will be launched on July 27.

“I come from a country which has seen poverty and affluence live together in a cohesion. Somewhere I feel like the world has become desensitised to the problems that are happening around the world,” Priyanka said.

The actress, who is shooting for the second season of ‘Quantico’, shares that “we have forgotten about humanity, we are fighting about your god is better or my god is better, my country is better or yours is better. We’ve forgotten about what the future is, and the future is of the world and the millennials.”

Priyanka, who tasted fame internationally as Alex Parrish with ‘Quantico’ Season 1, also feels that Global Citizen Festival “gives the millenials – the youth of today which is the generation of tomorrow, the power to say that I can be the change that I want to see”.

The actress is also looking forward to her Hollywood debut ‘Baywatch’.
