Bollywood’s chocolate boy Shahid Kapoor is happy with the niche that he has created for himself in Bollywood. His latest avatar as a rock star addicted to drugs in ‘Udta Punjab‘ brought him immense accolades from fans and critics alike. But things have not been easy for the actor as he had to face adversity before gaining fame in Bollywood.

Sasha confessed, “Everyone thinks that he is Pankaj Kapur’s son, so he must have got a break. But I have been rejected from 100 auditions. Sometimes, I didn’t have money to eat food or to even go to the auditions. I have lived that life, and I don’t like talking about it. But that is my reality.”

He further added that though his first film ‘Ishq Vishk’ was a big hit, he also faced failure. But finally his perseverance paid up and after a number of debacles at the box office he finally found his mojo with ‘Jab We Met’. Shahid said, “My instincts, as an actor, are driving my choices. I jump at anything that allows me to do something different. I am not thinking about too many other things. I feel like God has blessed me with this career, and I cannot let this opportunity go to waste. I don’t want to feel satisfied easily. It has been a 13-year-long wait to reach here. So, it will maybe take 13 years for me to feel relaxed.”

On the career front, Shahid Kapoor is now awaiting the release of Vishal Bhardwaj’s upcoming film ‘Rangoon’ that also stars Kangana Ranaut and Saif Ali Khan in pivotal roles. The period film set during World War II will be releasing on October 14, 2016. On personal front, the actor is anxiously awaiting the birth of his first child with wife Mira Rajput.
