Vijay Thalapathy Calls Jana Nayanan Release Delay, Karur Stampede 'Conspiracy' Targeting DMK Ahead Of TN Elections

Vijay Thalapathy, chief of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), filed his nomination for the upcoming Tamil Nadu elections in Trichy on Thursday. After completing the process, he addressed a large gathering and alleged a conspiracy surrounding both the delay of his final film, Jana Nayagan, and the Karur stampede that claimed over 40 lives. Vijay Thalapathy Addresses Jana Nayagan Delay, Karur Stampede

Addressing a crowd in Trichy, Vijay Thalapathy said, “I don’t need to tell you how all the parties have come together to oppose your Vijay. As many said, the conspiracy around the Karur incident, and the fact that my final film, Jana Nayagan, could not be released…What if it made our close-to-heart relationship even stronger? And what if that film became a powerful weapon in the elections? As a brother, son, as your Vijay, I need justice.”

He reiterated his earlier stance about stepping away from a life of comfort to stand with the people. “I have come here for you, even though I have a luxurious life. I am coming only to repay your gratitude and bear all the pain,” he said, adding, “I will never lie or deceive you. Do you want (current CM M. K. Stalin) Stalin, who works against people, or Vijay, who works for them? That’s all this election is about.”

During his address, Vijay also described the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) government as an ‘evil force’. He urged voters to remove it from power in the upcoming Assembly elections. Marking his political debut, he will be contesting from the Perambur and Trichy East constituencies.

About Jana Nayagan

Meanwhile, Jana Nayagan, directed by H. Vinoth, was initially slated for a Pongal release on January 9 as a grand send-off for Vijay’s film career. However, despite heavy promotions by KVN Productions, the release was postponed due to delays in CBFC certification. The film stars Mamitha Baiju, Pooja Hegde, and Bobby Deol. It is reportedly an adaptation of Bhagavanth Kesari. According to the producers, it was initially expected to receive a UA 16+ certificate. However, it was later referred to a revising committee after objections were raised over certain scenes.
