Tamil actor Maran, who had acted in many Tamil hit films passed away due to Covid-19 today (May 12) morning. He was admitted to Chengalpet Government hospital two days ago for treatment but died of the deadly virus. Maran was from Naththam in the Chengalpet district. He will be cremated by the Corporation officials.

Maran also appeared in films like Ghilli, Thalai Nagaram, Kuruvi, Boss Engira Baskaran, Dishoom, Vettaikaran, and KGF: Chapter 1 among others is supporting roles. Apart from doing comedy roles, he also acted as a villain in many films. He was seen as Vijay’s friend in Kuruvi and Ghilli. He played the role of Adhivaasi in Ghilli and he was praised for his performance.

On Tuesday, Tamil Nadu recorded 29,272 fresh COVID-19 cases that take the total cases to 14,38,509 while 298 deaths in the last 24 hours taking the toll to 16,178. As the state is witnessing new infections daily, Chief Minister MK Stalin appealed to the public and industries to donate to the Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fund to fight against the pandemic.
