Sanya Malhotra to headline Netflix’s next Kathal: First Look Out

Sanya Malhotra is all set to collaborate with Netflix once again. She will be seen headlining a cop drama titled ‘Kathal’. The movie also features Anant Joshi and went on floors earlier this week. The ‘Dangal’ actress will be playing the role of inspector Mahima in this unique mystery.

Netflix took to social media and announced the collaboration by sharing the first look of Sanya Malhotra from the mystery thriller.

Announcing the launch of ‘Kathal’, Netflix wrote in social media, “Gumshuda insaan ko dhoondna mushkil hai par gumshuda Kathal ko? ?? Is hi mushkil case ko solve karne aa rahi hai @sanyamalhotra07 as Mahima in Kathal.#KathalOnNetflix”

In the announcement video launched today Sanya, dressed in a police inspector’s uniform, talks about how her senior thinks she has complicated the case. “But little does he know that the case has twisted her life“, she adds.

The movie is set in a small town and revolves around a local politician whose prized jackfruits (Kathals) go missing. A young police officer- Mahima, played by Sanya Malhotra, is adamant to solve this bizarre case to prove herself.

Kathal is the directorial debut of Yashowardhan Mishra. It is produced by Guneet Monga’s Sikhya Entertainment and Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Motion Pictures.

This is Sanya Malhotra’s fourth venture with Netflix after ‘Ludo’, ‘Pagglait’ and ‘Meenakshi Sundareshwar’.  Further details about the movie will soon be revealed by the makers.

The actress was recently seen in Zee5’s ’Love Hostel’ in which she worked alongside Vikrant Massey and Bobby Deol. It is garnering a positive response from critics and fans.
