Alia Bhatt recently shared heartfelt insights about her lifelong dream of becoming an actor and her journey in Bollywood, which she describes as privileged yet filled with challenges. During an event, the actress reflected on how her desire to be on screen was rooted in childhood, inspired by watching Govinda and Karisma Kapoor’s songs on television.
Alia Bhatt Acknowledges Privileged Background In Bollywood
She told News18, “Sach kahun to main to bachpan se hee acting kar rahi hoon apne mirror ke saamne… Mere paas sirf mere dimaag mein ek sapna tha ki mujhe ek din woh jo TV dikh raha hai na, uske andar hona hai.” She added, “Since then, I have believed that I was meant to be in front of the camera.”
Alia, the daughter of filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and actress Soni Razdan, openly acknowledged her privileged background. She said, “I’ve had a very different journey, and I do acknowledge that when you come from a place of privilege, it’s easy to say that. But I say this even coming from a place of privilege. Sometimes you still have those bad days, you still have those low days. And on those days, the only thing you can tell yourself is that I’m allowed to dream. And I’m allowed to believe in myself.”
Alia also took the opportunity to discuss her upcoming film Alpha, part of the Spy Universe. She described the film, “Alpha is a celebration of strength and attitude. To hum mein se har ek ke andar ek ‘Alpha’ hota hai. Har ek ke andar ek powerful side hoti hai, which doesn’t need anything to flourish.”
