Amitabh Bachchan, Lata Mangeshka

As legendary singer Lata Mangeskar has departed for her heavenly abode on February 6, the entire nation mourned her demise. She was tested positive for COVID-19 and was admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital. She was under observation and was on ventilator support but due to multiple organs failure, she breathed her last on Sunday morning. From fans to several Indian stars and personalities took to their respective social media handles to offer their condolence or to share heartfelt eulogies. 

Similarly, Actor Amitabh Bachchan also mourned the loss of Lata Ji and penned a heart-touching note on his official blog while sending prayers and peace. Big B wrote, “She has left us ..The voice of a million centuries has left us .. her voice resounds now in the Heavens ! Prayers for calm and peace.” Even his son Abhishek Bachchan shared a condolence message which read, “Today, we have lost the greatest  of all time! We are all left heartbroken and speechless. An irreplaceable loss. Rest in glory Lata ji. Thank you for blessing us with your voice, talent and compassion. We are privileged to have lived in the times of the great Lata Mangeshkar.

Several celebrities including Anushka Sharma, Parineeti Chopra, Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Ranveer Singh, Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, Vicky Kaushal, Kiara Advani and many more paid tribute to Lata Ji.

Meanwhile, After her death, Dr Pratit Samdani, who was treating the singer at Breach Candy Hospital, issued a statement. “It is with profound grief that we announce the sad demise of #LataMangeshkar at 8.12 am. She has died because of multi-organ failure after more than 28 days of hospitalisation post #COVID19,” Dr Pratit informed as quoted by news agency PTI.
