Rapper, record producer, and singer-songwriter Badshah recently treated his fans by releasing his third studio album. Titled Ek Tha Raja – which translates to ‘once there was a king,’ this album not only commemorates Badshah’s remarkable 12+ years in the music scene but also highlights his unwavering commitment to pushing the boundaries of artistic expression. Before launching the album, Badshah released a video last week featuring a surprise voiceover by the Badshah of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan, hyping fans further.

At an exclusive launch event organized by Spotify, the musician treated his fan community to a never-seen-before spectacle. This included his narrating behind-the-scene tales and high points from the making of the album. Also present on stage at the launch were several of Badshsh’s collaborators from the album, including Raftaar x Aastha (Like A Snake), Fotty Seven x Raga (Alag Hai) and Seedhe Maut (Bajenge).

Featuring collaborations with over 15 superstar acts from the Indian music industry Badshah’s third studio album transcends boundaries and genres. Some of the collaborators on this album are Arijit Singh, Karan Aujla, Nora Fatehi, DIVINE, MC Stan and Raftaar. Badshah’s previous albums are the 2023 EP ‘3:00 AM Sessions’ and the 2018 album ‘O.N.E. Original Never Ends’.

Talking about ‘Ek Tha Raja’, the rapper shares, “This album represents a culmination of years of passion, dedication, and artistic exploration. Each track is a testament to the power of collaboration and community building and the boundless potential of music to transcend boundaries.”

This album, released via Universal Music India, takes listeners on a rollercoaster ride of emotions, rhythms and beats. It is not just a catalogue of songs, but a cultural phenomenon and a celebration of diversity and community.
