The Chandigarh Administration sealed a popular nightclub in Sector 26 associated with rapper Badshah on Tuesday following the discovery of alleged violations of approved building plans and construction norms. Officials from the Building Branch conducted the sealing operation in the morning, accompanied by police personnel, after the club management failed to address irregularities despite receiving multiple notices over a prolonged period.

According to officials, the establishment was under scrutiny for deviations from the sanctioned building plan. They stated that additional structures had reportedly been added within the premises beyond what was approved. Despite repeated directives to remove the unauthorised portions and ensure compliance, the club operators did not take corrective action within the specified timeframe. As a result, a team from the Building Branch arrived around 9.30 am. They sealed the premises in accordance with municipal and building regulations, officials confirmed.

What Happened 2 Years Back?

The club had previously attracted public attention. It was due to a security incident that occurred nearly two years ago outside the premises. At that time, explosions were reported outside two nightlife venues in Chandigarh’s Sector 26. It caused damage to glass panels and other property. This incident prompted a high-profile investigation after social media posts purportedly linked to gangsters Goldy Brar and Rohit Godara. They surfaced online claiming responsibility for the blasts. The posts alleged that the attacks were carried out after demands for protection money were ignored.

One of the affected venues was Seville Bar and Lounge, where rapper Badshah is reportedly a business partner, along with D’Ora Club. The blasts damaged parts of both properties, though no major casualties were reported. The social media messages attributed to Goldy Brar claimed that the club owners had been contacted for extortion payments. The repeated calls and messages had gone unanswered. The posts described the explosions as warnings to those allegedly ignoring such demands.

Law enforcement and security agencies launched investigations into the incident. However, officials clarified that Tuesday’s sealing was related solely to alleged violations of building regulations. And it was not connected to the earlier security incident. Authorities emphasised that the action was taken strictly because the club management failed to rectify the construction irregularities. This came after multiple opportunities were given to them for clarification.
