Riteish Deshmukh fell in love with the storyline of ‘Banjo’

Riteish Deshmukh, who will next be seen in ‘Banjo’, says that when the script was narrated to him, he fell in love with the storyline and the character.

The actor said, “While I was narrated the script I fell in love with the film’s storyline and the character…You listen to the story first then if the character is also good then it interests us. Me and Ravi (Jadhav) both are good friends. After ‘Balak-Palak’, we wanted to work together and ‘Banjo’ script came to us. I am very happy to be a part of this film.”

The first track of the film, ‘Bappa’, was launched yesterday, and the actor says that music composers Vishal-Shekhar are the backbone of the film. Riteish said, “‘Banjo’ the name itself is that of a musical instrument. If music isn’t good then the film fails. The composers Vishal-Shekhar have done a wonderful job. They are the backbone of the film.”

“‘Bappa’ has a very Mumbaiyya flavour, it also is a kind of street music. The song has an Indianness with a touch of fusion. We hope audience likes the song,” he added.

The 37-year-old actor also spoke about the banjo street music of Mumbai. He said, “Banjo music or banjo parties always catch your attention because of its strong beats. Ravi ji has gifted me a banjo which is my prized possession.”

The movie, which also stars Nargis Fakhri releases on September 23.
