Veteran singer Anup Jalota has been kept in isolation as soon as he arrived in Mumbai from London today (March 17). The 66-year-old singer took to his Instagram handle to share his experience and he also appealed others to cooperate with the authorities.

Following the outbreak of the deadly virus, the government of India issued guidelines which said that all the people arriving in India from foreign countries will be quarantined for a minimum 14 days. Also, people have been asked to avoid travelling abroad unless it’s extremely necessary. So as soon as Anup arrived at Mumbai International airport on Tuesday, he was taken straight to Miraj hotel.

Sharing his awe for the way authorities are trying to curb the spread of the contagious virus, Anup took to his Instagram handle and wrote, “I am in awe with the Medical Care offered by BMC for passengers who are 60+. I was taken to Hotel Mirage as I landed MUM from LDN ;a team of doctors was sent to attend me. I appeal each passenger landing here to cooperate and help in controlling the further spread #covid19india(sic)”

Coronavirus has been declared a pandemic by the World Helth Organisation(WHO). As a preventive measure, social-distancing and self-isolation have been advised. In India, around 126 positive cases have been reported so far and the virus has already claimed three lives.
