Darshan Kumaar Expresses Disappointment Over The Bengal Files Trailer Cancelled In Kolkata

“Cinema has always been more than just entertainment — it’s an art form, a reflection of society, and a way to express deep emotions, ideas, and truths. Since ancient times, storytelling through film has connected us, challenged us, and inspired us. As the saying goes, ‘Don’t judge a book by its cover’ . And the same applies to films. A title is only the beginning; the real meaning unfolds on screen,” said Darshan.

Urging audiences to approach the film with an open heart and mind before forming any conclusions, he added, “It’s only fair that a story be seen and heard in its entirety before being judged. That’s why it was truly disheartening and shocking for us to be denied the opportunity to launch our trailer in Kolkata. As artists, we pour our heart and soul into our work. I’ve lived and breathed the character of Shiva Pandit for months. All we ask for is the freedom to present our work, to share it openly, and to let the audience decide for themselves. Art deserves a platform, not silence.”

Darshan continues to ride high on the success of his acclaimed role in Aashram alongside Bobby Deol and is eagerly anticipating the release of the new season of The Family Man, further cementing his place as one of the most versatile and impactful performers.
