The production house of director Aditya Dhar, B62 Studios, has been blacklisted from seeking permission to shoot in Mumbai for the film Dhurandhar 2. The decision follows the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials flagging multiple violations of safety protocols and regulations on the film set.
Dhurandhar 2 Makers In Trouble Over Alleged On-Set Violations?
Deputy Municipal Commissioner (DMC) Zone I approved the permanent blacklisting of B62 Studios, along with two other applicants, preventing them from submitting further filming permissions through the Maharashtra Film, Stage and Cultural Development Corporation Limited.
“Having received the necessary clearances, these three applicants – Komal Pokhriyal, Nasir Khan, and B62 Studios – will no longer be able to apply for shooting permissions via the Maharashtra Film, Stage and Cultural Development website. On Tuesday, notices will be issued to inform them of this action, and copies will be shared with the Maharashtra film cell and BMC’s Business Cell head,” a BMC official told The Indian Express.
About The Civic Body Demands
Additionally, the civic body has demanded a penalty of Rs 1 lakh for filming on a building terrace and operating two generator vans without proper approvals. The BMC has also called for the forfeiture of the Rs 25,000 security deposit submitted by the production house. These steps come after repeated violations of safety norms on the film set in A ward, with authorities first flagging issues on February 7 and 8. Following these violations, the DMC of Zone 1 granted permissions on Monday to take action against the breaches.
The Maharashtra Film, Stage and Cultural Development Corporation Limited had received an application from the production house seeking permission to shoot scenes between February 7 and 8. Earlier, on January 30, permission was granted for filming in areas between Modi Street and Perin Nariman Street in A ward.
What Are The Alleged Violations?
Authorities reported that the film set “completely violated” police terms, including bans on using crackers and flammable materials. Subsequently, the same organization received another application from Komal Pokhriyal for shooting between February 13 and 14. Due to prior violations, this application was canceled, prompting the applicant to submit a new request on the Maharashtra Film Corporation website for permission to shoot between 12:30 am and 4 am on February 14.
