Ek Villain crosses 50 crores

Mohit Suri’s thriller ‘Ek Villain’ has earned a fantabulous start. This is probably due to the excellent promotions of the film, amazing songs and hot suspense. The movie, though expected to touch an opening of 10 crores which would have been a joyous moment for producer Ekta Kapoor and director Mohit Suri went a long way.

It also has sneaked in with the right opportunity of time which made the film hit the nail. The opening of ‘Ek Villain’ actually challenged the opening of Salman Khan’s ‘Jai Ho’.

Who ever imagined of something like this? The newbies have made the tunnels light with their ‘Ek Villain’ opening exceeding Salman’s ‘Jai Ho’ that too with its release on a non-holiday.

Being Friday, collections of ‘Ek Villain’ falling short by few lakhs compared to “Jai Ho” made its carve with its weekend collection by crossing 50.70 crores. It also has also out-numbered movies like ‘Humshakals’ and ‘2 States’ having its first weekend collection more than the first week collections of these films.

Though ‘Ek Villain’ was not screened in many theatres it has managed to beat the super hit movies. The craze of audiences to watch the movie has gone more and more wider and has been thrilling as the days lay. The movie has been through positive, average and negative comments but still is the talk of the market.

Now, it has been awaited to cross over 100 crores by seeing the movie growing so tremendeously. Though the upcoming medium budgeted films ‘Bobby Jasoos’ and ‘Lekar Hum Deewana Dil’ can be a challenge, but more has to be observed about the week day collection of the movie.
