Has Rajpal Yadav Been Released From Tihar Jail_

Rajpal Yadav’s Rs 9 crore cheque bounce case has become a trending topic on social media. A video is currently going viral, claiming that he has been released from jail. However, it has now been confirmed that the video is old. Rajpal Yadav is actually currently in Tihar Jail in connection with the cheque bounce case. He surrendered himself on February 5, 2026, following orders from the Delhi High Court. Despite this, a video showing him interacting with the media has surfaced online, leading to false rumours of his release.

Has Rajpal Yadav Been Released From Tihar Jail?

In the viral clip, Rajpal Yadav expresses his gratitude towards Salman Khan, saying, “Salman Bhai is like an elder brother to me. I feel happy knowing that people like Salman Bhai are there in our industry.” He also added that Salman always helps those in need and mentioned that he has worked with the Dabangg star in several films over the past 20 years. “I feel relief now. I want to get back to acting and resume work,” Rajpal said.

It’s important to note that the video is old, in which Rajpal spoke about Salman Khan helping him with legal issues at that time.

Rajpal Yadav Cheque Bounce Case Update

The legal trouble for Rajpal Yadav began when he borrowed Rs 5 crore in 2010 to finance one of his films. Unfortunately, the film failed at the box office, and Rajpal was unable to repay the loan. The lender filed a legal case under cheque bounce laws because Rajpal issued multiple dishonoured cheques. With interest and penalties added, the total debt rose to nearly Rs 9 crore.

In 2018, the court found him guilty and sentenced him to six months in prison. The Delhi High Court later granted him time to clear the debt, but he delayed repayment and missed deadlines. Ultimately, the court ordered him to surrender to Tihar Jail, which he did on February 5, 2026. He had requested more time, but his petition was dismissed. The next hearing is scheduled for February 16 in the Delhi High Court.

Support From Bollywood

Following news of his surrender, several Bollywood actors—including Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn, Varun Dhawan, Sonu Sood, and others—stepped forward to provide financial assistance to help Yadav repay his dues.
