Hera Pheri 3 has once again found itself at the centre of fresh speculation. Reports recently claimed that Paresh Rawal had exited the much-awaited comedy sequel and returned his signing amount with 15 per cent interest. The news quickly sparked concern among fans, especially because Rawal’s portrayal of Baburao Ganpatrao Apte remains one of the most loved comic characters in Hindi cinema. However, a closer look reveals that the reports currently circulating online are not fresh developments but old reports from 2025 that have resurfaced again.
Priyadarshan REACTS To Paresh Rawal’s Alleged Exit From Hera Pheri 3
The latest buzz claimed that Paresh Rawal had once again stepped away from the film due to disagreements over the payment structure mentioned in the agreement. Reports also stated that the actor had returned the signing amount along with additional compensation, describing it as an amicable professional exit.
When contacted regarding the reports, Paresh Rawal did not respond. Meanwhile, filmmaker Priyadarshan, who is attached to direct the film, told the media, “I am not aware.”
However, the viral claims appear to stem from an old Bollywood Hungama report originally published on May 23, 2025. At the time, the publication had reported that Paresh Rawal exited the film and returned the signing amount of Rs 11 lakhs with 15 per cent annual interest. Soon after, Akshay Kumar’s production banner Cape of Good Films reportedly filed a Rs 25 crore lawsuit against the actor.
Reports Claim Paresh Rawal Returned Signing Amount
The matter was later resolved, and Paresh Rawal eventually returned to the franchise. The issue had seemingly ended there. However, the same old information has now resurfaced online in 2026 and is being circulated as a fresh development.
Back in 2025, Reports also suggested that Paresh Rawal was being paid Rs 15 crore for the film. He had allegedly received Rs 11 lakhs as the signing amount. While the remaining Rs 14.89 crore was expected to be paid after the film’s release. According to the report, the actor had reservations about waiting nearly two years for the balance payment. Especially since the film was expected to release in late 2026 or 2027.
Hera Pheri 3 Legal Troubels
The road to Hera Pheri 3 has been far from smooth. Over the years, the project has faced repeated delays, creative changes, casting rumours, and legal disputes. At one point, reports suggested that John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan would replace the original cast. Leading to major backlash from fans who wanted the iconic trio of Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, and Paresh Rawal together again.
The film later regained momentum after Priyadarshan returned as director and the original cast reportedly reunited. However, new controversies continued to emerge. Producer Firoz Nadiadwala also became involved in a legal battle connected to the franchise and allegedly filed a fraud case against the makers over copyright-related disputes, extortion, cheating, and defamation claims.
Despite all the hurdles, fan excitement around the franchise remains massive. The original Hera Pheri, released in 2000 and became a cult classic. While Phir Hera Pheri in 2006 further strengthened its popularity.
As of now, there has been no official confirmation that Paresh Rawal has exited the film again. For fans worried about Baburao’s absence, the current reports largely appear to be based on old developments that had already been resolved.
