‘Padmavati’ row: Arjun Kapoor supports SLB says his vision must be trusted

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmavati’ has been riddled with numerous controversies from the word go. There has been absolutely no respite for the makers as the Rajput Karni Sena has been threatening them with dire consequences if there is any distortion of facts. The writer and director of the movie, Sanjay Leela Bhansali took it upon himself to clear the air around the misconception in the minds of the audience around a romantic dream sequence between Rani Padmavati and Alauddin Khilji. In the video that was released last night, Bhansali addressed the issues pertaining to how this movie doesn’t hurt the religious sentiments of the Rajput community in any way and that there is no interaction between Padmavati and Khilji in this movie whatsoever.

His video soon got viral and earned support not only from his lead actors Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor, but also other celebs like Arjun Kapoor. Arjun took to his official Twitter handle and expressed his thoughts on the entire ‘Padmavati’ row. He put forth his respect for Bhansali and stated that his vision needs to be trusted. He wrote, “Yet again a man has to justify creativity because politics & propaganda creates an ugly environment. He’s a fantastic filmmaker his vision must be trusted. The movie stars Deepika Padukone in the role of Rani Padmini, Shahid Kapoor as her husband Raja Rawal Ratan Singh and Ranveer Singh in the role of Alauddin Khilji. The movie is slated to release on December 1, 2017.
