Ileana D’Cruz has voiced strong criticism of the unrealistic beauty standards often imposed on women, particularly in light of recent social media scrutiny faced by global pop star Rihanna. Rihanna was targeted online for not “bouncing back” to her pre-pregnancy physique immediately after giving birth. Responding to this viral debate on her Instagram stories, Ileana called the criticism “bloody infuriating” and condemned the absurd expectations placed on new mothers. The actress, who is herself a mother of two, did not hesitate to defend Rihanna.

The controversy began when Rihanna was seen with her younger son, Riot. It sparked a flood of social media comments questioning why she hadn’t yet returned to her former body shape. A magazine later highlighted how the singer was bullied for not instantly regaining her pre-pregnancy figure. Expressing her thoughts on her Instagram stories, Ileana described the criticism as “bloody infuriating” and took a stand against the unreasonable standards placed on women after childbirth. “She’s a powerful woman!” Ileana wrote, emphasising that the pressure for women to “bounce back” immediately after pregnancy is both unrealistic and unfair.
She pointed out the physical and emotional journey of motherhood. She said, “She carried and birthed that baby, is feeding and nurturing her child, and yet the question remains, ‘why hasn’t she bounced back yet?’ Bloody infuriating—these unrealistic expectations.”
Ileana married Michael Dolan in 2023, and the same year, they welcomed their first son. In 2025, they had their second son.

On the professional front, the 38-year-old actress was recently seen in the romantic comedy-drama Do Aur Do Pyaar.
