Deepika Padukone has been in the headlines lately for her bold act for visiting the Jawaharlal Nehru University and standing with its students. Many Bollywood celebs have expressed their opinion on Deepika’s visit.

Recently, ‘Queen’ actress Kangana Ranaut said that it is not appropriate for her to say what Deepika should have done, she can only speak for herself.

In an interview with Spotboye, Kangana Ranaut said that she should not have an opinion on what Deepika is doing and she cannot speak on what they should have or shouldn’t have done.

Nevertheless speaking about Deepika’s visit, Kangana said, “I think, she is exercising her democratic right and she knows what she is doing. I shouldn’t be having an opinion on what she is doing. It is not appropriate for me to say that she should have done this or that. I can say what I want to do. I definitely do not want to stand with ‘tukde tukde’ gang. I don’t want to support anyone who wants to divide this nation. I don’t want to empower those who do not have the country’s welfare in their mind. I don’t want to comment on what she should have done.

Post the Jawaharlal Nehru University violence incident, on 7 January, Deepika Padukone visited JNU campus to show her solidarity with the assaulted students and teachers. However, the ‘Chhapaak’ actress received a very divided response where some supported her actions while others even demanded to boycott her movie.

Meanwhile, talking about Kangana, she is currently gearing up for her next, ‘Panga’ that also stars Jassie Gill. The film is all set to hit the silver screens on 24 January 2020.
