Javed Akhtar kangana Ranaut defamation case

Back in September 2020, Javed Akhtar had filed a defamation case against Kangana Ranaut for allegedly making derogatory comments and maligning him in her television interviews. Now Mumbai police have summoned the Manikarnika actress in connection to this defamation case.

According to a PTI report, Kangana has been asked to appear before the Juhu police tomorrow i.e January 22. In his complaint, the veteran lyricist had said that Kangana’s baseless comments caused damage to his hard-earned reputation. He had even accused the actress of unnecessarily dragging his name in Sushant Singh Rajput‘s death case.

Akhtar had filed a criminal complaint against the Queen actress in Andheri metropolitan magistrate. The lyricist’s complaint against the actress also mentioned that she had falsely accused him of threatening her to keep silent about her alleged relationship with Hrithik Roshan.  The veteran lyricist had even said that Kangana dragged his name while speaking about ‘coterie’ in Bollywood.

Mumbai police have been asked by the court to file a report of their investigation in this defamation suit till February 1. Meanwhile, Kangana has received several legal notices over her tweets in the last few months. She is also entangled in a legal battle with BMC over the partial demolition of her office in Mumbai.
