As the nation celebrates Kargil Diwas today, the pioneer of war films in India, filmmaker J P Dutta opened up about the love, the fans have been showering on his films over the years. Ahead of his upcoming war film ‘Paltan’, the director expressed his heartfelt gratitude towards the audience for their love.

J P Dutta shares, “I am humbled that my films are still been remembered by the audience on such an important day for our nation. Both my films ‘Border’ and ‘LOC Kargil’ were war drama films, which were loved by the audience then. It was just a small effort from my side to bring the struggle of  Indians to the silver screen. Both the incidents in the Indian history are very important and talk about our strengths.

With his upcoming film ‘Paltan‘, J P Dutta is all set to complete the war trilogy that he started with ‘Border’ and continued with ‘LOC Kargil’. With ‘Paltan’, the National award-winning director returned to direction after a gap of 12 years.

‘Paltan’ boasts of an ensemble cast comprising Arjun Rampal, Sonu Sood, Gurmeet Choudhary, Harshvardhan Rane and Siddhant Kapoor amongst others.

Based on the Nathu La military clashes of 1967 which took place along the Sikkim border, ‘Paltan’ will showcase an untold story of the Indian forces facing off in an intense battle to ward off the Chinese infiltration.

With its gripping storyline, the film promises to tell the riveting, untold story of the bravest of Indian soldiers who fought till the very end. Presented by Zee Studios and produced by J P Dutta Films, ‘Paltan’ is slated to release on  September 7, 2018.
